The PetSafe ultrasonic bark control effectively discourages the dog wearing it from barking. When the microphone detects that your dog is barking, the unit emits an ultrasonic sound signal, audible to your dog but not to most humans. Frightened by the high-pitched sound, the dog will stop barking as it associates its barking with the unpleasant noise.
