What is a training electronic collar:
The electronic training collar is an aid to the education of your dog. It is indeed a tool designed to help and accompany you in training your dog. The operating principle of an electronic training collar is simple. Most electronic collars operate on the same principle :

1- the dog is warned by one or more audible beeps for its undesirable behavior
2- if the dog persists in its unwanted and/or disturbing behavior, it then receives a correction.

The correction, depending on the models of electronic collars, can occur in different ways :
- by a spray jet (e.g., citronella)
- by vibrations
- by ultrasound
- by electrostatic stimulations*

* Collars that emit corrections by electrostatic stimulations do not emit real "electrical discharges" as such, but electrostatic stimulations. Harmless for the dog and also not painful for it, the sensations experienced by the animal are indeed more annoying than painful, which will encourage it to stop its bad behaviors.

Usage recommendations:
A dog can learn basic commands as soon as it reaches the age of 8 weeks. Before considering the use of an electronic training collar, we strongly advise you to educate your companion in a so-called "natural" way (praise, petting, rewards, positive reinforcement ...). With some work and by spending time with your dog, you should be able to teach it the basic commands, without which life with your companion will be difficult (sit, lie down, walking on a leash, recall ...).

Your dog's education should begin as early as possible, and you should regularly "maintain" its training in order to reinforce the commands acquired. An electronic training collar is only a tool for reinforcing commands and correcting faults and undesirable behaviors.

An electronic collar should not be used on a dog younger than 6 months. Excessive use of electronic training collars can produce the opposite effect of that desired, and lead to behavioral problems.
We strongly advise you to carefully read the instructions indicated in the collar manuals. An electronic collar is indeed a very effective tool, but it is essential to use it properly.

Use of the training collar for hunting:
The training collar is widely used for hunting dogs. The dog is often far from its owner and its full attention is on the game. It is therefore common that the animal does not respond to commands. The training collar, if the commands are understood by the dog, is often the solution.

It is frequently used in the following cases :
• Dog recall
• Prevent the dog from hunting too far
• Refusal of certain game (avoid deer for example)
• Safety: make a quick and effective recall in case of danger to the animal (roads …)
