The Swiss Army individual 4" (10 cm) pressure dressing is a very compact, individually packaged bandage. It is intended for use in the immediate management of severe bleeding wounds, particularly in emergencies. It can be applied with one hand; it has a loop that allows the injured limb to be slipped into it (to prevent it from rotating freely). The loop also serves as a bite strap for one-handed application on the upper arm during "self application". Thanks to its two-slot pressure applicator, the dressing will be stable against rotation on the limb and resistant to sliding toward the distal end of the limb. It will provide pressure and counter-pressure to be balanced around the entire circumference of the limb or body.
