What is a training electronic collar :
The training electronic collar is an aid in educating your dog. It is indeed a tool aimed at helping and supporting you in training your dog. The operating principle of a training electronic collar is simple. Most electronic collars operate on the same principle :

1- the dog is warned by one or more audible beeps for its misbehavior
2- if the dog persists in its unwanted and/or annoying behavior, it then receives a correction.

The correction, depending on the model of electronic collar, can occur in different ways :
- by a spray jet (citronella, for example)
- by vibrations
- by ultrasounds
- by electrostatic stimulations*

* Collars that deliver corrections by electrostatic stimulations do not emit real "electric shocks" as such, but electrostatic stimulations. Harmless to the dog and not painful for it, the sensations experienced by the animal are indeed more annoying than painful, which will encourage it to stop its bad behaviors.

Instructions for use :
A dog can learn basic commands as soon as it reaches 8 weeks of age. Before considering the use of a training electronic collar, we strongly recommend educating your companion in a so-called "natural" way (praise, petting, rewards, positive reinforcement ...). With a little work and by spending time with your dog, you should be able to teach it basic commands, without which life with your companion will be difficult (sit, down, leash walking, recall ...).

Your dog's education should begin as early as possible, and you should regularly "maintain" its education in order to reinforce the commands learned. A training electronic collar is only a tool used to reinforce commands and correct faults and unwanted behaviors.

An electronic collar should not be used on a dog younger than 6 months. Excessive use of training electronic collars can lead to the opposite effect to the one desired, and cause behavioral problems.
We strongly advise you to read carefully the instructions provided in the collars' manuals. An electronic collar is indeed a very effective tool, but it is essential to use it properly.

Use of the training collar for hunting :
The training collar is widely used for hunting dogs. The dog is often far from its owner and all its attention is focused on the game. It is therefore common that the animal does not respond to commands. The training collar, if the commands are understood by the dog, is often the solution.

It is frequently used in the following cases :
• Dog recall
• Prevent the dog from hunting too far
• Refusal of certain game (avoid deer, for example)
• Safety: make a quick and effective recall in case of danger to the animal (roads …)
