When designing the new TSN 88 Prominar series, Kowa went back to its roots in optical design. Paths that made Kowa one of the world's most popular spotting scope manufacturers. To improve a fundamental characteristic that Prominar users appreciate every time they look through their eyepiece - natural color.
Kowa has always been proud to manufacture optics that deliver a pure rendering of the scene before the lens. This allows the observer to explore and appreciate every detail of the subject. An image free from negative optical distractions lets you immerse yourself in the scene unfolding before you.
Kowa's engineers improved the optical coatings applied not only to the lenses but also to the prism of the new Kowa TSN 88 Prominar spotting scope series. The result is a spotting scope that offers even higher wavelength transmission levels than its predecessor and, more importantly, across the entire color spectrum for the most natural colors in nature.

The new TSN 88 series features an 88 mm pure fluorite crystal objective - the true optical power at the heart of all Prominar flagship optics. This unique objective redefines color brilliance standards and eliminates chromatic aberration for the most detailed view of the natural world.

Fluorite crystal offers the best visual experience available today, virtually eliminating all chromatic aberrations and delivering images of exceptional resolution and contrast.
Fluorite is much more difficult to work with than optical glass and requires very advanced processing technology.

DOUBLE FOCUS KNOB
The dual focus knob mechanism allows precise control of the image. The fast focus provides quick action to bring out the details of your subject in a few turns, while the fine focus allows precise fingertip control for unparalleled focusing accuracy.
ROBUST, LIGHTWEIGHT AND PORTABLE
The TSN 88 Prominar now benefits from a 100% magnesium alloy body, making it not only more durable but also lighter than its predecessor. A fully waterproof, nitrogen-sealed housing, along with an improved Kowa KR coating applied to the objective lens that prevents dirt, moisture and dust from accumulating on the surface, give the scope reassuring robustness.

The TSN 88 Prominar adopts the new curves and ergonomic shapes created for the recent TSN 99 Prominar spotting scope series. There is no doubt, this spotting scope is PROMINAR. A classic green with a new elegant, enhanced style and a comfortable shape designed to give the user the best experience and handling in the field.
STILL THE QUEEN OF DIGISCOPING
The TSN 88 Prominar keeps its crown in the world of digiscoping, offering photography enthusiasts long-telephoto photography options not possible with conventional photography. The improved coatings further enhance digiscoping performance, even at the highest magnification levels, producing images previously achievable only with high-end DSLR systems. Kowa offers an enviable range of dedicated and universal smartphone adapters that allow most smartphone models to be easily connected to the TSN 88 Prominar. Capture detailed, high-magnification images and videos of the natural world using your smartphone.
DOUBLE TRIPOD MOUNT
A new double tripod mounting system prevents the scope from sliding or rotating on the tripod shoe, ensuring increased stability during long periods of use. This system is a game changer for convenience and handling in the field.
SIGHT
The spotting scope includes a new detachable sight that can be attached to the accessory collar to help locate the subject more quickly. The sunshade also features a new integrated sight that provides an additional visual aid.
KOWA SYSTEM - AN ACCESSORY COLLAR: INFINITE POSSIBILITIES
This threaded collar allows connecting a wide range of accessories to extend the functionality of the TSN 88 Prominar pure fluorite crystal spotting scope, creating a multi-purpose optic for observation, long-range use, digiscoping, smartphone applications and astronomy.
