All SMC PENTAX XW eyepieces offer an apparent field of view of 70° and an exceptionally long 20 mm eye relief for wide-perspective images.

• High-grade optics for exceptional image quality:
The high-performance lenses of the XW range include lanthanum glass elements with a high refractive index and very low dispersion for high contrast and minimal aberrations. These elements are designed to reduce distracting shadows appearing in the image by effectively compensating pupil spherical aberration.

• Exclusive PENTAX multi-coating for exceptional light transmission
All optical surfaces in contact with air benefit from a specific multi-coating to effectively reduce stray reflections and ghost images while providing extremely high light transmission. In addition, all laminated surfaces receive a partial coating (a Pentax innovation) to offer light transmission greater than 90 % across the visible spectrum (and up to 96 % at 550 nm).

• An anti-glare technology for improved contrast
The XW series features an anti-glare technology that significantly reduces internal light reflections for improved contrast.

• Waterproof construction for uninterrupted observation
The XW range offers waterproof construction compliant with JIS Class 4* allowing use in drizzle or nocturnal dew conditions.
* The eyepieces of the XW range are not designed for underwater use and must not be submerged in water.

• American-standard barrel with integrated mounting adapter
The XW range is designed around the American standard of 31,7 mm for easy installation on PENTAX spotting scopes. The removable rotating eyecup reveals an adapter thread of 43 mm diameter with a 0,75 mm pitch.
