SD 7x42 and 10x42 ED binoculars
Two high-quality models with excellent light gathering, ED glass elements and large-diameter objectives for clear, precise observation.

With large 42 millimeter objectives integrated into a robust, waterproof body, these new models deliver a sharp image and high contrast even in challenging lighting conditions such as at twilight. For the first time in the S series, they also incorporate ED glass optical elements to effectively correct chromatic aberration, providing an accurate view across the entire field comparable to higher-end models.

Clear and bright vision
Like PENTAX’s top-range Z series models, these new binoculars offer a sharp image and high contrast with reduced stray light and ghosting, thanks to the use of full multi-coating on all lens surfaces and a coating specially designed to optimize transmittance. They also feature large 42 millimeter objectives to provide a clear, bright view even under difficult lighting, such as at twilight. The exit pupil of the PENTAX SD 7x42 ED measures six millimeters, making them ideal for astronomical observation.

ED glass optical elements
These binoculars are the first in the PENTAX S series to incorporate ED (extra-low dispersion) glass optical elements to effectively compensate for chromatic aberration. As a result, they deliver a detailed, high-contrast, and sharp image of the subject.

Waterproof and rugged construction for harsh conditions
Thanks to their robust waterproof construction (equivalent to the JIS Class 6 standard for waterproof products down to a depth of one meter), these models can be used in almost any weather and can simply be rinsed with water. They are nitrogen-filled to prevent any internal fogging, even during abrupt temperature changes.
