Product care Clean your boots with water and a brush. Let them air dry. Use a silicone spray and polish them with a soft, dry cloth. Store your boots in a dry, ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and any heat source. If the boots are wet, thoroughly dry the lining before wearing them again. If you store your boots for a long period, clean them thoroughly and keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
In 1927, in a coastal village in Normandy in France, Claude Chamot had the idea of creating the most comfortable and best-fitting pair of rubber boots. Today, nearly 100 years later, Mr. Chamot's vision still endures. From the first to the last gesture, these craftsmen keep their know-how alive in the manufacture of each pair of Le Chameau boots.
Our rubber A number of factors determine the quality of the rubber, notably the season (Spring is the ideal season), as well as the purity of the air and the quality of the trees. Le Chameau uses only category A rubber, light in colour and low in ash and dirt content. This recipe still relies on Claude Chamot's original blend, producing a soft, supple and durable rubber, which forms the basis of all our boots.
Sole construction For each type of sole, the base sole is made by pouring our rubber into the bottom of a two-part mold. The mold is closed, pressurized and cooked. As the rubber heats and spreads through the mold, it takes the shape of the sole. Different elements are then added to the process, depending on the desired type of sole.
