A versatile, lightweight and robust shoe for demanding alpine hikes - crampon compatible. With PU at the heel for perfect cushioning and EVA at the forefoot for greater precision.

The Makra Pro GTX is ideal for demanding alpine hikes with glacier crossings, but also for easier summer hikes in high mountains and rocky routes. This versatile, lightweight and robust shoe features a lightweight, waterproof GORE-TEX membrane and a durable, resistant Perwanger leather upper. For the lightweight yet particularly stable midsole, we use a combination of PU, TPU and EVA. PU at the heel for perfect cushioning - an integrated TPU crampon ledge for secure attachment - and EVA at the forefoot for more precision. The Vibram® Makra outsole provides excellent grip. Together, they form a dream team. The "Hanwag 2 Zone Lock" with mechanical lace locking improves heel fit. Unlike conventional lace tightening hooks, the mechanical lace lock stays in place and cannot slide unless manually adjusted. The optimized Ghillie lacing is a distinctive feature of the Makra family - it runs through textile loops up to the toe area. This guarantees secure support around the front of the foot and good overall stability for a mid-height model. And the Alpine Wide Last shape provides more space at the forefoot for a larger one.
