What emerged quickly and often was the need for a reliable steel blade that could take a beating and hold an edge — enter 9Cr steel. Selected specifically for its toughness, corrosion resistance and edge retention, the blade is also mirror polished for extra protection and easy cleaning. The Controller is built with a full-tang steel blade for rugged, secure use in slippery situations.

Getting your grip on a wet fish can be tricky; your fillet knife shouldn’t be. On a mountain bank, a floating kayak or an Everglades marsh, adventure anglers demand more grip on their fillet knife. Integrated directly into the handle itself, GuideFins™ provide solid thumb placement and unmatched control for smooth, safe cuts. The handle design aims for comfort and utility — HydroTread Grip ™ is strategically applied in raised sections for traction and to quickly shed water when cleaning up after the day.

A crucial element of the fillet knife system is the Controller's innovative sheath. Designed with generous ventilation, the molded plastic sheath won't become waterlogged and is easy to rinse once the job is done. An integrated sharpener allows blade touch-ups on the go, and it easily mounts with multiple options for secure storage on a backpack, belt or pocket.
