The electrical connections of the fence play a particularly important role. If one of the installation's connections is poorly made, the electric shock may no longer be felt, or may be felt too weakly after that connection.

All connections on permanent fences must be screwed. Use only galvanized screws or junction fittings (preferably hot-dip galvanized), or stainless-steel ones.

Rust on the junction points acts as an insulator that impedes the flow of current and lowers the voltage on the fence.
