Since the invention of the first spotting scope in the 1950s, the Japanese optics manufacturer KOWA has continued to innovate in the world of optical design and technology.
This heritage continues today with the reinvention of the popular Kowa BD binocular series. Presenting the BDII-XD. A range of upgraded optics at the forefront of imaging excellence using Kowa's premium XD lenses.
The binoculars that benefit from Kowa's decades of optical advances and the philosophy of the BDII-XD are simple:
- Affordable and uncompromising.
A binocular that can be enjoyed by many, while offering exceptional image resolution, robust build quality, superior engineering and comfortable operation.
- An ED lens not so ordinary
As with many binocular brands, the BDII-XD series uses ED glass (extra-low dispersion) to improve optical performance.
Each BDII-XD model is equipped with environmentally friendly XD objective lenses. This high-resolution ED glass contains large amounts of mineral fluorite crystal - the best material available to date for light transmission, thereby ensuring a sharp and accurate image as well as a chromatic aberration practically e (color fringing).
The result: simply stunning views of nature.
Kowa's lens coating technology developed over decades further enhances the light transmission properties of all lenses and the unique KR coating repels dirt and liquids.
Enjoy crisp images with natural colors, high contrast and incredible detail, from dawn to dusk.
- Enhanced durability
Each model in the BDII-XD range benefits from a magnesium alloy chassis. A sophisticated molding process reproducing the feel and strength of metal without the weight.
The lightweight yet sturdy structure can tolerate the harshest conditions and provides a sense of security and longevity.
The BDII-XD is built to last, use it with confidence.
A reinforced "tactile" rubber coating surrounds the sturdy magnesium alloy body, providing not only a secure and comfortable grip, but also increasing the level of durability.
Each BDII-XD is fully waterproof, filled with dry nitrogen to prevent the lenses from fogging. The Kowa KR coating protects against dirt and any other buildup of foreign residues that may adhere to the lenses during use.
- Expand your horizons One of the most remarkable optical features of the BDII-XD series is its wide field of view offering exceptional wide-angle performance.
Viewing is very easy on the eye, making long periods of field use pleasant and comfortable.
The field of view is the area in which you can see through your binoculars. It is generally measured in m/1 000 m or in degrees.
Example: At a distance of 1000 m, the BDII32-6.5XD model can display an incredible image width of 175 m. Find a subject faster with a wider field of view and crystal-clear clarity. Designed for your comfort
The BDII-XD series is designed to enhance your viewing experience.
A sleek, ergonomic design with a reinforced "tactile" rubber covering specially selected to ensure easy and comfortable use - enhancing every moment of use.
Seamless operation.
A smooth, responsive focus wheel offers cutting-edge precision and soft-rotating twist-up eyecups ensure optimal viewing for both eyeglass wearers and non-eyeglass wearers.
Adjust your focus to suit your needs with an easy-to-use diopter adjustment system.
The magnesium ergonomic body of the BDII-XD series is as impressive as the optics it protects, each curve intended to make viewing relaxing and fatigue-free.
Night Sky
Thanks to their wide angle all models in the BDII-XD range are perfect for astronomy enthusiasts and those who simply want to enjoy a breathtaking view of the night sky.
With its wide field of view and clarity the BDII-XD series will take you on an immersive journey through the stars.
These lightweight, ergonomic binoculars are an ideal choice.
Close focus
All models in the BDII-XD range benefit from excellent close-focusing performance. The 42 mm series features a short focusing distance of 1.8 m while the 32 mm models can achieve an incredibly close focus distance of just 1.3 m.
