A radio signal is transmitted by the boundary transmitter, via a buried wire, defining the perimeter you want for your dog. Your dog wears a receiver collar that detects the signal at the boundary. When your dog approaches the boundary, the receiver collar emits a warning signal. If he moves further, he receives a harmless static stimulation that makes him startle. This stimulation will not hurt him but will convince him to stay within the containment area you have established. The boundary flags are a temporary visual aid for your pet; remove them after training. The In-Ground Fence™ PetSafe® wire containment system is proven safe, comfortable and effective for animals over 3.6 kg.
